Bob McGrath is a Master level Usui/Tibetan Reiki Ryoho practitioner and teacher certified by The International Center for  Reiki Training (ICRT).  Bob received his Advanced and Master training directly from ICRT founder William Lee Rand, putting  Bob's Reiki attunement lineage only five generations removed from Dr. Mikao Usui, who founded the Reiki system of energy  healing in 19th century Japan.

Prior to studying under Mr. Rand, Bob completed his Level I and II training in Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki at the Unity Healing Center (now Holistic Healing Arts of Saratoga) under Master Teacher Linda Thompson in Saratoga Springs, NY.

Bob also studied Usui/Tibetan Reiki Levels I and II from ICRT senior licensed Master teacher Carolyn Musial of Mystic Wolf Healing Arts in Williamsville, NY.  Carolyn has studied directly  with Hiroshi Doi, president of the Gendai Reiki Healing Association in Japan and a member of the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai,  where she received her Gokui Kaiden, the highest level of Gendai Reiki Ho.

Bob frequently donates his time practicing Reiki as a volunteer for the Community Hospice bringing relief from pain and  anxiety to patients, caregivers and the bereaved in nursing home, hospital, vigil and private home settings. Bob is also the Coordinator of Volunteer Comlementary Therapies for the Rensselaer County office of The Community Hospice.

Bob is also an accomplished guitarist, pianist and songwriter, and also offers guitar lessons for beginners of all ages through Pathways to Harmony in our studio or the student's home. In his spare time, Bob plays keyboard and guitar for the classic rock band Yu No Hu, entertaining at various venues in New York's Capital District.

Bob is the father of two daughters, Paula (28) and Liz (23) and was first introduced to Reiki and its wonderful healing  energies as a result of losing his wife to cancer.  The Community Hospice provided such tremendous family support during this  difficult time for Bob's family that he began to seek out opportunities to volunteer as a way to balance the Karma for gifts received.  During one of his initial Hospice volunteer training classes, he was exposed to an introductory Reiki information session and was immediately hooked. Bob is now a member of the new volunteer training team for The Community Hospice.

Bob is a spiritual and psychic medium, having studied at the world-renowned spiritualist center in Lily Dale, NY under internationally known medium, speaker and author Sharon Klinger, co-founder of Starbringer Associates. Bob has done public readings at both the Forest Temple and Inspiration Stump in Lily Dale and can frequently be found sharing psychic and spirtual messages or leading guided healing meditations during the regular Friday night circles at Venture Inward in East Greenbush NY. Bob also does remote spiritual messaging using email.

Bob is also trained in Suggestive Therapeutics (hypnotherapy for healing and self-improvement). He has studied under Dr. David A. Frederick of the World Institute of Integrative Health Services in Lancaster, PA.

In addition to the above modalities, Bob often includes the use of crystals, gemstones, chromatherapy (light), aromatherapy (scent) and music (sound) in his Reiki sessions to enhance their effectiveness.

Bob is an ordained minister in the Universal Life Church and his ministry is focused on natural healing.

Bob holds a Doctorate in Metaphysics and has a professional membership in the Reiki Membership Association of the International Center for Reiki Training.

Born and raised in Albany NY, Bob has made his home in the rural town of Poestenkill NY in Rensselaer County for the past 22 years.
